Movie Trailer Mondays

“The Spanish-language title for I, Frankenstein is both accurate and awesome.” -The Dissolve

Each week I review movie trailers that came out the previous week or for movies that are about to premiere. Some of these movies I am excited about, some I am mildly curious about, and the rest I make fun of!

Notable movies coming out this week

I, Frankenstein

This movie looks both awful and AMAZING! If only it starred Jackson Rathbone! [If this is the biggest movie coming out this week we are all doomed. -M]

A Fantastic Fear of Everything, is out onDemand and for Rent

Simon Pegg’s curly wig is FABULOUS (if that is his real hair, BRAVA!) in this trailer. He also seems to be playing another man-child, this time a writer who has fears. [Oh this looks adorable! I hope it is not scary, because I too have FEARS. -M]

Movies I can’t wait to see in an ACTUAL theater

Dom Hemingway, April 4, 2014

This movie keeps looking better and better. I appreciate that Jude Law is kind of embracing his thinning hair (quite frankly he is getting better looking) and I LOVE the 70s facial hair. Game of Thrones starlet Emilia Clarke also stars as Law’s daughter. [Is Jude Law really old enough to play Emilia Clarke’s dad? I feel old. Also she has a kid with one of the dudes from Misfits, so Jude Law is a GRANDPA. -M]

Godzilla, May 16, 2014

I hope this is as good as Pacific Rim. The acting talent here looks AMAZING from Bryan Cranston to Sally Hawkins! [I love that you loved Pacific Rim, Katie! I did feel it got better during the second viewing but there was not enough Ron Perlman. Also I will not see Godzilla unless Ron Perlman is in it. It looks shitty. -M]

I won’t go to an ACTUAL theater but will pay for it on Amazon

The Face of Love, March 7, 2014

This movie looks both lovingly endearing and really creepy. I am a huge fan of Annette Benning so I’m in! [Ugh that song in the trailer is fucking terrible. I have confirmed Ron Perlman is not in this so I am out. -M]

A Promise, TBA

If you have a choice between Robb Stark and Alan Rickman you choose Alan Rickman. Also though I find it lovely that the woman is topped billed, I find it weird that Alan Rickman isn’t billed over Rebecca Hall. [Yeah I wouldn’t pick Robb Stark either. I do really enjoy Rebecca Hall and period pieces! -M]

You would have to PAY me to see it in an ACTUAL theater

Cheap Thrills, March 21, 2014

The only positive thing about this trailer is Ethan Embry’s sweet-ass ginger beard. [I’m trying to find positive things to say about this but I can’t except for the beard. It seems really misogynistic, it stars a bunch of randos and it seems like a bad if-Guy-Ritchie-were-American rip off. -M]
