Movie Trailer Mondays

CampTakota_GraceHelbig
Each week I review movie trailers that came out the previous week or for movies that are about to premiere. Some of these movies I am excited about, some I am mildly curious about, and the rest I make fun of!

Notable movies coming out this week

Pompeii

Jon Snow versus the Volcano! [I don’t even know what to say about this that I haven’t already. Abs = nice. Plotline = terrible. -M]

Camp Takota, is for Rent and to own at camptakota.com

Last week Melissa pointed out that you should spend Valentine’s Day with the ladies of youtube who made Camp Takota this week it’s our featured WATCH IT NOW film and boy does it look super fun. [I want to see this so bad! Mamrie forever! -M]

Movies I can’t wait to see in an ACTUAL theater

One Chance, March 14, 2014

This docudrama is based on opera singer Paul Potts, winner of Britain’s Got Talent and stars James Corden who is mostly known for being a comedian but is excellent in dramedy’s. I highly recommend All or Nothing the Mike Leigh film he was in from 2002, it’s amazing and for some reason is often on Starz. I also will remind you that Simon Cowell is now somebody’s father and NOT always a douchebag. [After seeing this trailer, which made me cry several times, I watched all the clips of the original performances from BGT. Do it! -M]

Only Lovers Left Alive, April 11, 2014

Indie auteur Jim Jarmusch cast the internet’s boyfriend Tom Hiddleston as a vampire musician who also happens to be married to our girlfriend Tilda Swinton –FUN!!! [Man the expenditures on wigs were probably half the budget. I like how stylized this looks, and the costumes (sunglasses!) but it would probably scare me. -M]

I won’t go to an ACTUAL theater but will pay for it on Amazon

Authors Anonymous, April 18, 2014

The Big Bang Theory’s, Kaley Cuoco and Chris Klein–CHRIS KLEIN it’s so nice to see you again–star in this indie about a group of wannabe authors. It’s also the last screen role for Dennis Farina. [Yay quirky ensemble comedies! I think Community and Go On (RIP) helped inspire this. I want to see Kaley play like a Mensa member or something. -M]

Make Your Move, April 18, 2014

From the writers behind Step Up AND Save the Last Dance comes Make Your Move staring Derek Hough (Julianne’s brother) and K-pop singer BoA! I can not wait for this to come on TV! It’s also in 3D for those of you who like that sort of thing. [As long as there are dancing reality shows churning out “stars” there will be more movies like this. Watching this whole movie would require much wine. -M]

You would have to PAY me to see it in an ACTUAL theater

Oculus, April 11, 2014

Karen Gillan, you are a good actress why are you in this schlock? [I stopped the trailer as soon as I saw WWE Productions was responsible. -M]
