Movie Trailer Mondays

Each week I review movie trailers that came out the previous week or for movies that are about to premiere. Some of these movies I am excited about, some I am mildly curious about, and the rest I make fun of!

Notable movies coming out this week

I tried the find the tv-spot that features Oscar nominee Lupita Nyong’o but I couldn’t so here is the regular tv-spot with lots of Liam Neeson, Michelle Dockery and Julianne Moore looking stricken on a plane. [Is this a parody? It seems so serious. Liam Neeson has really reinvented himself into this boring hero-type the past few years. Is that what happens to men over 50? -M]

Barefoot, is out onDemand and for Rent

Look Melissa I found Felicity’s Ben and he is going to a wedding with Evan Rachel Wood who may or may not be an escaped mental patient who hates shoes –anywho Scott Speedman is hot and this movie might be fun when it’s free on Netflix. [Hey it’s the VP from Scandal! I hope this is sweet and does not make fun of people with mental problems. -M]

Movies I can’t wait to see in an ACTUAL theater

Hank and Asha, April 11, 2014

This indie romance about two people falling in love via video letters is adorable and I want to see it now. [That Asha is so freaking cute. I hope it comes to Netflix or something and that it is not corny or annoying. -M]

Guardians of the Galaxy, August 1, 2014

Chris Pratt is a gem of an actor and I love that he is the lead in this movie, he is also foxy as hell! Bonus, John C. Reilly and Peter Serafinowicz make this trailer go from good to AWESOME! [A bad action movie with a sense of humor! THANK GOD! I am obsessed with the raccoon. I probably could have done without “Hooked on a Feeling.” I wish there was more women in this but the source material is not full of females.  -M]

I won’t go to an ACTUAL theater but will pay for it on Amazon

Frankie & Alice, April 4, 2014

Halle Berry and Stellan Skarsgård star in this movie about a woman with multiple personalities that actually looks kind of interesting and well acted–color me intrigued. [This looks crappy but I’m into Halle as a chain-smoking badass with big hair. -M]

You would have to PAY me to see it in an ACTUAL theater

Goodbye World, April 4, 2014

The only good thing about this movie trailer is Adrian Grenier in a beard but then it turns into another scary dystopian movie which I only like if it’s YA because in YA books your kind of guaranteed a good ending or an emotionally satisfied ending–but that beard is super awesome! [What’s up Gaby Hoffman and Ben McKenzie! The scenery looks pretty? Grenier’s beard is super hot? I don’t know, I have run out of nice things to say. -M]
