Movie Trailer Mondays

WalkofShame WalkofShame_1

Each week I review movie trailers that came out the previous week or for movies that are about to premiere. Some of these movies I am excited about, some I am mildly curious about, and the rest I make fun of!

Notable movies coming out this week

The Monuments Men

IT’S FINALLY HERE! The George Clooney directed WWII movie starring everyone awesome, Bill Murray, John Goodman, Bob Balaban, Hugh Bonneville, Jean Dujardin and of course MATT DAMON! [GC is one of my fave directors!! It took way too long for TMM to come out, which leads me to believe it is terrible. I am so nervous! -M]

Brightest Star, is out onDemand and for Rent

A coming of age indie starring Chris Lowell (AKA PIZ from Veronica Mars) and Jessica Szohr (AKA Vanessa from Gossip Girl). It also feature Clark Gregg and Allison Janney so it might be better than your average coming of age indie. [Aww this looks adorable. Vanessa is THE WORST but I might not hate her in this? -M]

Movies I can’t wait to see in an ACTUAL theater

Le Week-End, March 14, 2014

Jim Broadbent and Lindsay Duncan play a couple of empty nesters on holiday in Paris and looks adorably droll and lovely. It also stars Jeff Goldblum who is a delight. [I will mark March 14th down so I can take my mother to see this. I love old people comedies! -M]

Walk of Shame, April 25, 2014

Elisabeth Banks and James Marsden star in this comedy that could be really fun or terrible as all comedies are these days. I’m hoping it’s funny since I like these actors. [GILLIAN JACOBS! Also some of my fave comedy people like Bill Burr and Tig Notaro. R-rated comedies are the best. -M]

I won’t go to an ACTUAL theater but will pay for it on Amazon

The Fault in our Stars, June 6, 2014

This movie is based on the young adult book by internet superstar John Green and stars Shailene Woodley, it also looks like it might make me ugly cry so I am going to watch this one at home. [Shannon said I shouldn’t read this book because it is too sad so I will pass on the movie. I do love John Green on tumblr and I feel like I am somehow betraying him. Oh well, there’s always Rainbow Rowell for lighthearted YA. -M]

A Long Way Down, TBA 2014

The acting caliber in this movie is amazing, Pierce Brosnan, Toni Collette, Aaron Paul, and Imogen Poots star and it is based on a Nick Hornby novel but it seems like the type of film that would play better on the TV (and truth be told I have never been able to get into the book). [Ohhhh the book where everyone meets on the roof, trying to kill themselves? This looks like a good cable movie but OMG Aaron Paul’s beard. RAWR. -M]

You would have to PAY me to see it in an ACTUAL theater

In Fear, March 7, 2014

Based on him starring in but not being in the trailer I’m guessing that Tom Branson is a killer and not a chauffeur in this horror movie –FUN??? [Any movie with the word “fear” in the title is not for me. This trailer started with a scream and then I turned it off. -M]
