Movie Trailer Mondays

Each week I review movie trailers that came out the previous week or for movies that are about to premiere.   Some of these movies I am excited about, some I am mildly curious about, and the rest I make fun of!

I vote making a law that ASkars must have a beard at ALL TIMES! Yowwza!

Biggest movie coming out this week

The East

Ellen Page and Alexander Skarsgard star as two really attractive eco-terrorists with Brit Marling. This actually seems smart and fun for summer. [I hope Ellen Page is more believable as an eco-terrorist than she was as a manic pixie dreamgirl actress in To Rome With Love. -M]

Movies I can’t wait to see in an ACTUAL theater

Elysium, August 9th, 2013

Pacific Rim and Elysium are the TWO Movies I am most excited for this summer (and can’t forget about The Heat, as it looks like it might be better than Miss Congeniality; Sandy and Melissa summer buddy cop comedy!!!!). I LOVED District 9 and think it is one of the FEW truly NEW SciFi movies of the last few years. We also LOVE Matt Damon here at SLLS (and Jodie Foster).

I won’t go to an ACTUAL theater but will pay for it on Amazon

Ender’s Game, November 1, 2013

For as big a nerd as I am, I have not read Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card (I AM SORRY), this looks interesting and I love Harrison Ford but I think I might read the book then decide on whether or not I want to watch the movie.

We’re the Millers, August 9, 2013

I LOVED Horrible Bosses but I’m going to wait on this one for either a better trailer or reviews. I am unsure if it’s stupid awesome or possibly stupid offensive.  Though it does have my future husband Ed Helms in it. [Cable movie written all over it.  -M]

You would have to PAY me to see it in an ACTUAL theater

Maniac, June 21, 2013

Oh look Melissa, Elijah Wood is continuing to make questionable life choices. This trailer is very arty for a horror film but CREEPY AS FUCK. As with all horror movies (though I am slightly intrigued by Mama) this is a NO! [I think Elijah should ask us to approve his roles. I’m more ok with Wilfred than this movie. -M]
