Movie Trailer Mondays

DaftPunk_Loki_1 DaftPunk_Loki_2

Each week I review movie trailers that came out the previous week or for movies that are about to premiere. Some of these movies I am excited about, some I am mildly curious about, and the rest I make fun of!

Notable movies coming out this week

Thor: The Dark World

I liked Thor 1 (I really appreciated scientist Natalie Portman and Kat Dennings). I am super excited about Thor: The Dark World (I am also super excited about more Tom Hiddleston interviews, that kid is a hoot). This movie also stars Scandinavian Stellan Skarsgård. [I hope Natalie Portman remains more scientist than love interest, and I like that she punches Loki in the trailer. I thought the first Thor movie was crap so I will wait to see this on cable unless someone pays for me. -M]

Parkland is out onDemand and for Rent on November 5th

That movie where Zac Efron plays the doctor who treats JFK after he is fatally wounded in Texas is out. [Zac Efron, doctor, are the three most ridiculous words to ever be strung together, especially after he sang “Get’cha Head in the Game.” -M]

Movies I can’t wait to see in an ACTUAL theater

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, November 22, 2013

22 DAYS! 22 DAYS! Melissa I will have to come down on a Saturday and see this with you! [SHIT I HAVE NOT READ THIS BOOK YET. -M]

X-Men: Days of Future Past, May 23, 2014

This movie looks so good, I cant wait for May! I LOVED X-Men: First Class but hated X-Men: The Last Stand so I’m hoping this is more like First Class. The quality of actors in this thing is a good start. [Nicholas Hoult AND Ellen Page together? I am into this. -M]

I won’t go to an ACTUAL theater but will pay for it on Amazon

The Immigrant, TBA 2014

Have I mentioned that Joaquin Phoenix creeps me out (it’s his voice), I’m not quite sure if my undying love for Marion Cotillard and Jeremy Renner can make up for his creepiness plus this looks like it might be better on TV than at the theater. [I could not follow this trailer at all except something about Marion Cotillard’s sister. Also, I think she’s overrated in movies where she’s speaking English. There are boobs in this trailer. -M]

You would have to PAY me to see it in an ACTUAL theater

Pompeii, February 21, 2014

I know this stars Jon Snow but didn’t everyone die in Pompeii doesn’t that mean this will be super depressing. Anyway I will watch this when it is on pay cable and text Melissa about how awful it is –NEVER FORGET THE EAGLE (for it is Rome)! [The first 25 seconds of this trailer are silent. I will never watch this movie, both because it looks incredibly stupid but also because it features a really shitty song. -M]
