Smart ladies love movies, the week in trailers, May 12, 2014

Movie Trailer Mondays

Each week I review movie trailers that came out the previous week or for movies that are about to premiere. Some of these movies I am excited about, some I am mildly curious about, and the rest I make fun of!

Notable movies coming out this week

Million Dollar Arm

This movie is the type of family movie I like, uplifting without being twee –good job Jon Hamm. [I think Lake Bell is so cool, I’m impressed she is the love interest here. -M]

Walk of Shame, is out onDemand and for Rent

This Elisabeth Banks/James Marsden movie was the notable movie when it came out two weeks ago but I also want to mention that it’s also available to watch it from your couch –Banks said it was the best premiere ever while tweeting an adorable picture of her on her couch in a snugly blanket.

Movies I can’t wait to see in an ACTUAL theater

Tammy, July 2, 2014

Melissa McCarthy and Susan Sarandon go on a road-trip and hilarity ensues. This was directed by the always funny Ben Falcone (who also happens to be married to McCarthy). [I don’t care that Melissa McCarthy plays the same looney/intense characters all the time, I fucking love those loonies and I will see this opening weekend. -M]

I won’t go to an ACTUAL theater but will pay for it on Amazon

Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, October 10, 2014

This is one of my favorite children’s books so it’s kind of hard to see it basically butchered but I have high hopes that Steve Carell and Jennifer Garner can make it more nuanced. [I think this looks ADORABLE and perennial SLLS Donald Glover has a small role! -M]

You would have to PAY me to see it in an ACTUAL theater

Rage, July 11, 2014

Nicolas Cage is in a “Liam Neeson type” movie and I am confused. On a happier note I watched both National Treasure movies this weekend and they were just as awesome as they always are. [The fact that this exists might make the world explode. -M]
