Smart ladies love movies, this week in trailers, April 27, 2015

Movie Trailer Monday

Each week I review movie trailers that came out the previous week or for movies that are about to premiere. Some of these movies I am excited about, some I am mildly curious about, and the rest I make fun of!

Notable movies coming out this weekend

Far From the Madding Crowd

Because we have featured the trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron I decided we should feature Far From the Madding Crowd again instead because Matthias Schoenaerts is so effing dreamy. I tried to watch the 1967 Julie Christie version and I vaguely remember it being boring but this trailer looks pretty lively so maybe it’s good. [Oh the usual hot guy versus rich hot guy versus poor hot guy conundrum. Also I’ve been enjoying Carey Mulligan lately so brava to her! -M]

Helicopter Mom, is out onDemand and for Rent

This movie looks kind of trashy and for $6.99 you can watch it in the comfort of your own home. It also has Bobby from Sons of Anarchy so that’s a bonus. [I will never ever pay $7 for this unless 13 of my friends come over and we each pay 50 cents. Nia Vardalos’ wigs look INSANE. This just seems kind of 90s, which actually probably appeals to the youth of today.  -M]

Movies I can’t wait to see in an ACTUAL theater

Jurassic World, June 12, 2015

Chris Pratt finally gets to be funny in the new trailer for Jurassic World and the movie only looks more awesome. I’m kind of getting excited for the summer. [Even though he’s been in good movies, I’m kind of sad Chris Pratt is the new summer idol. I like him on TV AND it’s only a matter of time before he stars in Independence Day 5. -M]

I won’t go to an ACTUAL theater but will pay for it on Amazon

The Overnight, June 19, 2015

This movie looks funny but also kind of creepy (I blame all of the horror movie trailers I’ve had to watch writing these posts). [Totally creepy! But good cast, even if it is a little blonde/white. However, Jason Schwartzman’s character is completely unsexy and makes me uncomfortable. Is that the point? -M]

The Fantastic Four, August 7, 2015

This movie looks better than Batman Vs. Superman but not as great as Avengers: Age of Ultron. The cast looks amazing so that’s a step in the right direction. I think I just hate the Fantastic 4 –I blame Jessica Alba. [I am already lined up for this crap. Michael B. Jordan and Miles Teller are magical together and I hope this will erase the memory of the Jessica Alba movies, though I wish Chris Evans would show up in this one. I am not sure why they redid The Fantastic Four, with few changes, so soon after the other ones, unless it was universally acknowledged but never spoken that the other two movies are complete and utter shite. -M]

You would have to PAY me to see it in an ACTUAL theater

The Gallows, July 10, 2015

Oh look a horror movie. This one has a kind of insane premise “20 years after a horrific accident during a small town school play, students at the school resurrect the failed show in a misguided attempt to honor the anniversary of the tragedy.” I mean this has to be the first horror movie about an elementary school play. This trailer is very red. [I decided not to watch this trailer. Life is too short. -M]
