Smart ladies love movies, this week in trailers, August 10, 2015

Movie Trailer Monday

Each week I review movie trailers that came out the previous week or for movies that are about to premiere. Some of these movies I am excited about, some I am mildly curious about, and the rest I make fun of!

Notable movies coming out this weekend

The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

Enjoy, kids, the five minute Man From U.N.C.L.E. trailer from Comic Con Henry Cavil and Armie Hammer are so dreamy and it appears Alicia Vikander kicks some ass. [I love that the Brit is playing an American and the American is playing a Russian. Oh, Hollywood. Anyway, this might be the only action movie I see in the theater all year, because of the hotness and Vikander. -M]

10,000 Km, is out onDemand and for Rent

This indie about two lovers separated for a year looks lovely (bonus points for star Natalia Tena from Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, and the also lovely indie Tonight You’re Mine and her costar David Verdaguer’s beard). [The Magnetic Fields “Nothing Matters When We’re Dancing,” is the perfect song to score this trailer. The movie looks so sweet, definitely something I will end up watching. I can’t even make fun of it. -M]

Movies I can’t wait to see in an ACTUAL theater

Deadpool, February 12, 2016

Finally a movie worthy of the “Merc with a mouth!” This looks funny, violent, profane, and insane all perfect for Deadpool. [Ryan Reynolds and Chris Evans keep taking each others’ roles. I knew nothing about this comic/superhero but it looks hilarious and there’s a couple “fucks” in the trailer AND TJ Miller being a sassy best friend type, so I’m all in with Deadpool. -M]

I won’t go to an ACTUAL theater but will pay for it on Amazon

The Last Witch Hunter, October 23, 2015

Two of my favorite people, Vin Diesel and Rose Leslie, star in this ridiculous movie about witch hunters –FUN!!! Also Frodo Baggins is there to look confused. [Vin Diesel may be the only person who looks less hot with a giant beard. I would not enjoy this unless I saw it with Katie, though it’s probably better than Inception. -M]

You would have to PAY me to see it in an ACTUAL theater

The Intern, September 25, 2015

With every watch I get more and more irritated with this movie and with Nancy Myers in general. Why with a cast this big are there no people of color and why does Anne Hathaway need a 70 year old man to fix her life? [This is one of the worst trailers we’ve featured. I mean, I like Nancy Myers’ pretty worlds, but there’s no way I can support this sexist, whitewashed piece of garbage. Sadly, there are a lot of comedians in this that I like a lot, AND Andrew Rannells (RIP The New Normal). Anne, you know better than this! -M]

By the Sea, November 13, 2015

Ugh I hate that two movies with female directors are in the bottom this week but the above movie makes me stabby and this movie just looks so bleak that unless it gets phenomenal reviews I know I will never ever watch it –I’M SORRY ANGIE! It looks really pretty. [Sooooo pretty. Angie wrote it too! The best is that this pops up in youtube after watching the trailer:

We mustn’t ever forget all the crap Angie’s put us through, like Life or Something like it, or the time she played a woman of color. For every Mr. and Mrs. Smith there’s also a Salt. So in short, I kind of hate Angelina Jolie. THE END. -M]
