Smart ladies love movies, this week in trailers, January 12, 2015

Movie Trailer Monday

Each week I review movie trailers that came out the previous week or for movies that are about to premiere. Some of these movies I am excited about, some I am mildly curious about, and the rest I make fun of!

Notable movies coming out this weekend

The Wedding Ringer

I am pretty excited about the amount of times I will watch this movie once it comes to pay cable. I adore both Kevin Hart and Josh Gad and this looks slightly dumb but also really funny. [I don’t think I would be associated with this movie in public, but I might watch it in bed where no one knows except Big Brother. -M]

Predestination, is out onDemand and for Rent

I don’t know how I feel about Ethan Hawk anymore. I used to enjoy him and then I grew up and watched Reality Bites and realized that Ben Stiller was the better boyfriend –tough times getting older. I do think he makes interesting acting choices and this movie looks like something I will once once it is on Netflix. [This is something I will try to ignore once it comes to Netflix but PJ will put it in our queue and watch it when I’m recapping Wahlburgers. -M]

Movies I can’t wait to see in an ACTUAL theater

Effie Gray, April 3, 2015

Emma Thompson wrote this movie starring Dakota Fanning as the titular Gray who is not particularly happy in the marital bedroom and so falls for Tom Sturridge. [How can one NOT fall for him? RAWR!! YAY Emma playing the sage older confidante. There’s something too modern in Dakota’s face to play a period piece. -M]

Ant-Man, July 17, 2015

Marvel’s Cinematic Universe really needed Paul Rudd; in fact, every project needs Paul Rudd. He would be great in Fargo or True Detective or Orphan Black or Game of Thrones. Imagine him as a friend to Don Draper or Roger Sterling. Paul Rudd is great wherever he goes. Paul Rudd is just great. [We will probably feature this movie ten more times because we are so excited about it. -M]

I won’t go to an ACTUAL theater but will pay for it on Amazon

Accidental Love, TBA 2015

David O. Russell made this move a long time ago and hated it so much once it hit theaters his name will be stripped from it. It looks weird and kind of funny and Jessica Biel and Jake Gyllenhaal are actually really good in comedies so it might be fun or really fucking terrible. [I am also weary of this, partially because the title is TERRIBLE, but also since it was on the shelf for so long but it looks funny and wacky. -M]

You would have to PAY me to see it in an ACTUAL theater

The Loft, January 30, 2015

I don’t know why any of these people are in this terrible movie. [This is the second James Marsden trailer in a row! I bet one day we could have an all-Marsden MTM. So wait, this loft is in existence to this group of bland, attractive white guys can cheat on their wives/girlfriends (because of COURSE they’re all straight) all they want and not have the mess of hotel credit card receipts? I think we all know how fucked up this is. -M]

The Lazarus Effect, February 27, 2015

WHY ARE THESE PEOPLE IN THIS MOVIE! I hope everyone in this and The Loft are being paid a lot for this shit. I’m so disappointed in Mark Duplass and Donald Glover. [Just the title ofthis movie–THE LAZARUS EFFECT–is a dead giveaway that I will hate it. Then, it involves people from The Purge and Paranormal Activity. Why do people I like keep signing up for movies like this? It’s not like it helps their careers–most of these movies are forgettable and completely interchangeable. -M]
