Movie Trailer Monday

Each week I review movie trailers that came out the previous week or for movies that are about to premiere. Some of these movies I am excited about, some I am mildly curious about, and the rest I make fun of!

Notable movies coming out this weekend

Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Zombie Cat is my new favorite band name. Also they don’t make enough movies about scouting. [This looks dumb and typical–I am SO not into zombies–but with the added hilarity of scouting jokes. -M]

Bone Tomahawk, is out onDemand and for Rent

I like to support westerns but if you have read these posts long enough you know I am NOT a fan of horror movies and a horror western psychological thriller is most likely NOT my cup of tea. So instead I will use this space to say you should watch Fargo on Mondays starring Patrick Wilson. [Fargo is SO GOOD right now. Everyone, please watch it! I will never see this, but I will say the cinematography is really lovely. -M]

Movies I can’t wait to see in an ACTUAL theater

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, February 5, 2016

Jane Austin and Zombies, what is not to love. It’s totally awesome watching women in Edwardian dress kill zombies–keep being in interesting things cousin Rose AKA Lily James. [UGH two zombie trailers today. What did I do to deserve this? I like the parody aspect of this–and I did read the book–but P&P&Z appears like it will be best enjoyed on TV. -M]

I won’t go to an ACTUAL theater but will pay for it on Amazon

He Never Died, December 18, 2015

So this is a total NO for me but I promised Melissa’s hubby PJ that I would include the Henry Rollins cannibal horror movie –so here it is! I think this is the second cannibal movie we featured in this post and we had two zombie movies, I did not intend for this to be Halloween themed but it’s a cute bonus?.?.? [At least this looks funny, and I like the zippy pace of the trailer; however, I will also not see this. Sorry Henry/PJ. -M]

Jane Got A Gun, February 2016

Now THIS is the western I want to see, that cast seems good and this looks pretty badass (which is amazing given all of its production woes). My one quibble is with Ewan McGregor’s unfortunate facial hair. I am also pleased it does NOT include zombies or cannibals. [According to imdb, Natalie Portman, AKA Jane, is the only named woman in this movie. SIGH. -M]

You would have to PAY me to see it in an ACTUAL theater

The Boy, January 22, 2016

I’m not sure there is anything worse than a horror movie about a creepy doll. ALSO this trailer gives too much away. [This is my least favorite MTM ever. Too many horror movies. I guess they make a lot more money than all my favorite indies directed by women. Anyway, I fucking hate this doll and I want to kill him NOW. THE END. -M]
