Movie Trailer Mondays

Each week I review movie trailers that came out the previous week or for movies that are about to premiere. Some of these movies I am excited about, some I am mildly curious about, and the rest I make fun of!

Notable movies coming out this week

The Grand Budapest Hotel

I am always super excited about a Wes Anderson film and this one looks particularly fabulous. It is also cast full of hot boys (Jude Law, Ralph Fiennes, Edward Norton, Jeff Goldblum and many more) and SWINTON! [This featurette is particularly awesome because it’s behind the scenes and you should watch it. The reviews of this are positive and it looks beautiful. -M]

The Art of the Steal, is out onDemand and for Rent

I missed Kurt Russell. He was so fabulous in Big Trouble in Little China and he makes movies fantastic. I hope this is a start of the reemergence of his career. [I feel like I’ve seen this a million times but at least Matt Dillon is in it. -M]

Movies I can’t wait to see in an ACTUAL theater

Muppets Most Wanted, March 21, 2014

I LOVE the Muppets. When I was a kid my two favorite movies were Annie and Muppets Take Manhattan. I am SO happy that they are making Muppet centered movies again  (though the ones based on stories are good). The human cast for this film is pretty great too. [If you asked me to cast a Muppet movie I would have put Tina Fey and Ty Burrell in it. The trailers always make me laugh. -M]

Godzilla, May 16, 2014

Because I loved Pacific Rim I think this might be awesome BUT I’m not exactly sure how I feel about Bryan Cranston crying throughout the entire trailer. [This is so serious. Is it actually supposed to be good? Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elisabeth Olsen are…. um… interesting choices. Sally Hawkins is in this too, the trailer needed more of her! -M]

I won’t go to an ACTUAL theater but will pay for it on Amazon

Tyler Perry’s The Single Moms Club, March 14, 2014

This movie looks kind of great, I love that blond from Bridesmaids (I should learn her name shouldn’t I, Wendi McLendon-Covey, look at me IMDBing while writing) and I have loved Nia Long since she was on Guiding Light when she and I were both much younger. ALSO TERRY CREWS! [Terry Crews forever!!!! I like the idea behind this movie but worry that the women are just obsessed with men. BLAH. -M]

You would have to PAY me to see it in an ACTUAL theater

10 Rules for Sleeping Around

This movie just looks terrible BUT it does have the kid who was Sarah Hyland’s boyfriend on Modern Family and he always kind of amused me. [I advise our readers to NOT watch this trailer. It is one of the worst looking movies we have ever featured on MTM. -M]
