Movie Trailer Mondays

Each week I review movie trailers that came out the previous week or for movies that are about to premiere.   Some of these movies I am excited about, some I am mildly curious about, and the rest I make fun of!

Man of Steel Amy Adams

I am loving the Annie Hall vibe from Amy Adams’ Lois Lane!

Biggest movie coming out this week

The Big Wedding

Katherine Heigl, why do you think it’s okay to drag good people into your terrible life choices? M and I are going to watch the shit out of this when it comes to cable. [I have not liked a K Heigl movie except Knocked Up, which she denounces. I think she needs new representation. Get those roles meant for Reese Witherspoon now that she’s been arrested & is tainted. -M]

Movies I can’t wait to see in an ACTUAL theater

The Kings of Summer, May 31, 2013

This movie just screams summer and indie, it also looks a little twee but the boys playing music on the pipe always makes me smile 🙂 [I feel like my friend saw this at a film festival and thought it was bad but I will see it anyway. Everyone I love is in it. -M]

I won’t go to an ACTUAL theater but will pay for it on Amazon

Man of Steel, June 14, 2013

I’m not the biggest fan of Superman, I find him kind of boring and Zack Snyder movies sometimes have misogynistic undertones that make me uncomfortable (Suckerpunch) but I do LOVE Amy Adams and Christopher Nolan so if this movie gets good word of mouth than I might go see it in the theater. [Nothing happens in the first 48 seconds of this trailer which is completely annoying. TOO SLOW. I quit watching at one minute. Will only see for Amy Adams, and then only on cable. -M]

R.I.P.D., July 19, 2013

This is another movie that I might actually pay a lot of money to see if the reviews are good.  I am a little excited about Jeff Bridges and Ryan Reynolds in a movie together even if it reminds me of Men in Black. [Oh man remember how much we loved Crazy Heart? This seems kind of gross and it might give me nightmares a la Pan’s Labyrinth. But Mary-Louise Parker looks fucking gorgeous. -M]

You would have to PAY me to see it in an ACTUAL theater

Aftershock, May 10, 1013

Oh, Eli Roth I am unsure about you. On one hand you brought us torture porn and on the other hand you are the Bear Jew. Also I wasted a weekend watching Hemlock Grove, which I am still unsure about (EW gave it a B+ and AV Club gave it a F, I think I would rank it a solid C). I’m still not going to watch this movie but I thought you should know I do have conflicted feelings about you. I think I might also find you attractive but talk myself out of that immediately. [Yeah I thought he was cute in Inglorious Basterds until I realized that he was Eli Roth. -M]
