Smart ladies love movie trailers, the week in trailers, September 9, 2013

Movie Trailer Mondays

Each week I review movie trailers that came out the previous week or for movies that are about to premiere. Some of these movies I am excited about, some I am mildly curious about, and the rest I make fun of!

If only Joel Kinnaman was saying this not dressed like a robot cop or pointing a gun at us.

Biggest movie coming out this week

The Family

This trailer is basically the movie only 2 and a half minutes long BUT this movie stars Michelle Pfeiffer and Dianna Agron, two smart ladies I love. It is definitely a cable flick. I am wondering why it has taken Hollywood so long to put Tommy Lee Jones in a movie with DeNiro. [The tone of this movie is really weird… is it a comedy or drama? I also wouldn’t pay to see it! -M]

Movies I can’t wait to see in an ACTUAL theater

All is Bright, October 4, 2013

Paul Giamatti and Paul Rudd with Canadian accents is the best thing. The fact that they are Canadian ex-cons selling Christmas trees in New York City AMAZING. It was also directed by the guy who directed Junebug and has Sally Hawkins! I want to see this movie right fucking NOW! [PJ is tangientially friends with Phil Morrison so he’s pissed he didn’t get invited to be in this movie with the other two Pauls. I have been waiting for Phil to do another movie FOR YEARS so I am really stoked about this. -M]

I won’t go to an ACTUAL theater but will pay for it on Amazon

Robocop, February 7, 2014

Joel Kinnaman! Joel Kinnaman is Robocop, less enthused. Robocop just looks weird. I am happy you can see Joel’s face. Bonus hilarity: Samuel L. Jackson in a wig. [Is this a reboot? I don’t like that Abby woman from Bright Star. This trailer was painful to watch and I hate movies like this. YUCK. At least there was that awesome wig. -M]

Neighbors, May 9, 2014

This looks awesome but I think I will prefer watching it at home. I do think that the person who cast this movie is a genius because Baby Franco and Zac Efron in my head are like the same person, a grown-up Seth Rogen is just funny and Rose Byrne’s hair is perfect (she is also funny but her hair is lovely and I want it). [This trailer makes me feel old, but truthfully everything makes me feel old these days. I also want Rose Byrne’s hair. It’s so shiny and healthy. -M]

You would have to PAY me to see it in an ACTUAL theater

Under the Skin, TBA 2013

This trailer reminded me of Eraserhead, I hated Eraserhead. I hated Eraserhead more than I hate ScarJo. ScarJo is in this movie, it is creepy you are warned. [I think the trailer tries too hard to make this movie LOOK David Lynch-ian. DL is too busy making records and selling coffee to Whole Foods to make movies like this anymore. This is the first movie Jonathan Glazer has directed since 2004. I hope he didn’t spend 9 years on this crap movie starring ScarJo in a shitty wig. -M]

  1. No feels about Kill Your Darlings? I die for Dane DeHaan and Jack Huston.

    • I watched it a bunch for my TIFF post and my Dan Radcliffe, Hot Dude of the Week paragraph but I just felt that it was DanRad overload so I’m holding it for next week but don’t you fear it will be featured in Movie Trailer Monday 🙂
