Movie Trailer Mondays

Each week I review movie trailers that came out the previous week or for movies that are about to premiere. Some of these movies I am excited about, some I am mildly curious about, and the rest I make fun of!

Notable movies coming out this week

I hope this movie is a big hit because it is important Hollywood knows that female fronted movies make money. I will watch the hell out of it when it comes to pay cable. [I fully support this as a female-fronted movie but I am not into stories like this. I will watch it with you on cable, we can follow it up with a Nicholas Sparks flick. -M]

Veronica Mars, is out onDemand and for Rent

I watched it twice this weekend and its fabulous if you don’t want to trek out to the theater you can rent it for $6.99 on Amazon and iTunes! I promise this is the last time I will feature this on the blog but I want a sequel so I am trying to get as many people to view it as possible! [#teampiz! I haven’t seen this yet but I’m so pleased that so many people love The Piz as much as I do. Also, I will beg you to watch Enlisted so it doesn’t get cancelled! PLEASE! -M]

Movies I can’t wait to see in an ACTUAL theater

Cuban Fury, April 11, 2014

Nick Frost, Chris O’Dowd, and Rashida Jones are three of my favorite people and “dance movie” is one of my favorite genres of film so I am ridiculously excited about this movie! [I love how they say the world “salsa.” Any movie where the cute and charming Nick Frost gets the girl is on my list!! Plus IAN MCSHANE!! I can’t wait for this. -M]

I won’t go to an ACTUAL theater but will pay for it on Amazon

Hateship Loveship, April 11, 2014

This movie looks kind of bittersweet and life affirming. The cast would be perfect except for Nick Nolte who I kind of hate but acknowledge is a good actor. [This looks sad and I am tired of Kristen Wiig’s weird mousy character that she resorts to so often. Alice Munro wrote this so I will probably enjoy it anyway. -M]

Get on Up, August 1, 2014

The James Brown biopic looks like it might be awesome (Nelsan Ellis and Craig Robinson make me SQUEE with delight) but it also kind of looks like a regular biopic which I will enjoy when it comes to pay cable. [Ugh this is from the director of The Help. The costumes are lovely and I really do like everyone in this movie but it seems a little squicky feel good. -M]

You would have to PAY me to see it in an ACTUAL theater

The Quiet Ones, April 25, 2014

Put Jared Harris on the list of people who make questionable life choices. Sam Claflin on the other hand is probably perfect for a film of this type. [I just watched the terrible Now You See Me on HBO, and noted that Mark Ruffalo was way too good for that movie but baby Franco was exactly right. I did not get through the trailer for The Quiet Ones because the music was freaking me out. -M]
