Movie Trailer Monday

Each week I review movie trailers that came out the previous week or movies that are about to premiere. Some of these movies I am excited about, some I am mildly curious about, and the rest I make fun of!

Notable movies coming out this weekend

Deadpool

At last Deadpool is here! –I feel like the hype for this has been endless. As much as I would probably enjoy this movie I think I’m taking a much needed break from the comic book movie. If you are also taking a break go see Hail Caesar! it’s a delight. [This is probably the only comic book movie I will watch for a while, because of all the cussing and TJ Miller. -M]

All Roads Lead to Rome, is out onDemand and for Rent

This trailer basically ruins the entire plot of this movie which looks darling. I hope it comes to either Prime or Netflix soon. [For when you have watched Under the Tuscan Sun one too many times. I may or may not fit into that category. -M]

Movies I can’t wait to see in an ACTUAL theater

Get a Job, March 25, 2016

The only reason this movie is in this category is because of Anna Kendrick (it might also feature a Bryan Cranston and Alison Brie which are bonuses but their presence in the trailer seems more bit supporting). Everyone else is basically doing the same thing they always do –I’m looking at you, McLovin. [I also like that this deals with real-life issues: being unemployed and having no money. I get tired of movies where everyone works in publishing and can afford giant apartments and fancy clothing. -M]

Jason Bourne, July 29, 2016

Not a lot happens in this Super Bowl spot but I’m excited for a new Bourne movie with BOURNE. [It definitely looks like they took these movies up a notch–more contemporary with a different storyline. -M]

I won’t go to an ACTUAL theater but will pay for it on Amazon

Demolition, April 8, 2016

Jake Gyllenhaal has been making very different and interesting career choice of late, this movie veers a little closer to the parts he chose in his youth but also shows signs of him growing up. [I am almost there with Demolition, but there’s something about it that turns me off a little. Maybe all the destruction? I hope there’s a reason for it. This was a popular trailer this movie season. -M]

Me Before You, June 3, 2016

Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin are very winning in this trailer but this movie has late night Saturday rent written all over it HOPEFULLY when Melissa is here visiting. It does look more fun than that Kate Hudson terminal cancer rom-com so there’s that. [I definitely don’t think I can handle all the sadness of this movie but it does look sweet and Emilia Clarke’s outfits are really cute. -M]

You would have to PAY me to see it in an ACTUAL theater

Nine Lives, August 5, 2016

Kevin Spacey’s stuffy businessman dies (or maybe he is in a coma) and his soul ends up in the family’s cat. Oh, Jennifer Garner come back to TV, movies have been unkind to your talent. [She was so good in Juno, she could stand to make better choices. I do think if she doesn’t want to be on a Shonda Rimes show that they would probably create something for her at Showtime. Between this and Keanu, there are TWO cat movies this year, which does make a cat fan like me super happy. I wish Gemma would let me bathe her like that. Oh, I think I forgot to review this trailer: it looks fucking terrible. Done.-M]
