Movie Trailer Monday (or Tuesday)

spy 1

Each week I review movie trailers that came out the previous week or for movies that are about to premiere. Some of these movies I am excited about, some I am mildly curious about, and the rest I make fun of!

Notable movies coming out this weekend

You don’t know what this movie is about, apparently nobody does, all I can make out from the trailer is that it stars Johnny Depp with a shitty British accent and Gwyneth Paltrow as his ball busting wife –FUN??? [This movie looks fucking horrifying. I’m sure it’s scarier than The Babadook. -M]

Song One, is out onDemand and for Rent (on Friday, June 23rd)

Melissa and I both really enjoyed the first trailer for Song One and this second one features the music more prominently and it is good. There is a good chance I might rent this sucker in a bout of boredom and NOT be disappointed. Also I miss Anne Hathaway. [More music, yay! This makes me want to watch The Devil Wears Prada again. Oh Anne, you are a jewel. -M]

Movies I can’t wait to see in an ACTUAL theater

Spy, May 22, 2015

Really, Paul Feig and Melissa McCarthy you had me with Jason Statham but then you hired Jude Law and I fucking need this movie ASAP. This trailer puts all of my worries for this movie away. Melissa seems smart and capable and the so-called spies look like idiots –well Law looks incompetent and Statham looks fantastic as always. I really wish I had screen shot the text message convo Melissa and I had about this movie my knowledge and love for Jason Statham movies is slightly embarrassing but also hilarious. [I am SO ON BOARD with this. It looks like it will be on the level of 21 Jump Street, which is a not-so-secret love of Katie and I. See, and this is why I am not worried about the Ghostbusters remake. -M]

Sisters, December 18, 2015

Between this movie and Star Wars next December can’t fucking come fast enough. ALSO this is only 15 seconds imagine how freaked out we will all be once the full trailer finally comes out. [I have watched this teaser so many times. I am a huge Baby Mama fan, seriously it is weird and hilarious and underrated. -M]

I won’t go to an ACTUAL theater but will pay for it on Amazon

Run All Night, April 17, 2015

Ed Harris versus Liam Neeson, I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that Neeson wins due to his particular set of skills. The only reason this isn’t in the you gotta pay me is because of Joel “mister handsome in a hoodie” Kinnaman. [Liam Neeson, please make a movie I want to see. I kind of fear that Jeremy Renner will somehow get sucked into making shit like this and he’s too good. SAVE JEREMY RENNER! -M]

You would have to PAY me to see it in an ACTUAL theater

Outcast, February 27, 2015

Hayden Christensen is top billed in this crap film over Nick Cage which says SOOOOO much about Cage’s is current career BUT let’s all be happy for Anakin Skywalker as he is a new dad. [I wish Rachel Bilson would have just randomly popped up in this. And that it was called OUTKAST. Anakin doesn’t appear to show up in the trailer until 43 seconds in (truthfully, I was busy eating). Nic Cage’s best line: “I AM the white ghost.” This might be fun to watch so you can create a Nic Cage drinking game. -M]
