Movie Trailer Monday

Each week I review movie trailers that came out the previous week or for movies that are about to premiere. Some of these movies I am excited about, some I am mildly curious about, and the rest I make fun of!

Notable movies coming out this weekend

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2

With the amount of premieres this movie has had, I was SHOCKED it wasn’t open in the US already but it opens Friday. I really hope Peeta saves everyone. [I feel like I have been seeing J Law promoting this FOREVER. She has worn less Dior, so that’s something! Unfortunately the Dior she wore included this monstrosity on the right. Why yes, I do think fashion is more interesting than HG. Still can’t watch any PSH movies without crying, so I will have to wait on this one. -M]

Shelter, is out onDemand and for Rent

Paul Bettany’s directing debut looks SUPER depressing. Let’s hope it at least brings attention to the plight of the homeless. [Jennifer Connolly looks nice with a bob. This is way too depressing for me. Also there’s a lot of water/drowning imagery, which makes me nervous. -M]

Movies I can’t wait to see in an ACTUAL theater

Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, December 18, 2015

Yes every trailer is basically the same, each one only adds about a second of NEW footage, and NONE of them have enough Oscar Issac BUT I’m still more excited about this than any other movie that had a trailer come out this week. [More interesting than this is the revelation that Lupita is playing a non-human character and people are mad and think she’s being “wasted,” even though we’ve known this information for a long time. -M]

The Divergent Series: Allegiant, March 18, 2016

And so because everything is the WORST I put Allegiant in the best category so it wouldn’t just be Star Wars VII. Truth, I have SEEN all the Divergent movies, they aren’t bad and I will probably enjoy this better than My Big Fat Wedding 2. I do have some qualms though, mainly I just do NOT see Naomi Watts (47) as old enough to mother Theo James (30), as you can see their age difference is only 17 years. This movie actually look like the most fun so that’s a win –right??? [Are these movies over yet? I am so tired. -M]

I won’t go to an ACTUAL theater but will pay for it on Amazon

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, March 25, 2016

Another truth is that I watch the original a lot on HBO BUT that does not mean I think it needed this sequel –I will probably watch this once it is available to rent. [Future HBO favorite. Andrea Martin never fails to make me laugh. I know what you’re all wondering–is Joey Fatone in this? The answer is a resounding YES. I hope this doesn’t go the way of Sex and the City and throw random things in between Ian and Toula to pull them apart. -M]

You would have to PAY me to see it in an ACTUAL theater

The Ridiculous 6, December 11, 2015

When will they STOP giving Adam Sandler money to make movies? Why are so many people we love in this piece of shit? I expect better of you Crews, Forte, and Zahn. [Is the name supposed to be making fun of the Hateful Eight? If Adam Sandler wasn’t in this I would probably watch it. Who am I kidding, this is going to be on Netflix during prime couch potato season, I will definitely see it. -M]
