Movie Trailer Mondays

AmericanHustle

Each week I review movie trailers that came out the previous week or for movies that are about to premiere. Some of these movies I am excited about, some I am mildly curious about, and the rest I make fun of!

Notable movies coming out this week

Inside Llewyn Davis

This doesn’t go nationwide until December 20th but those of us NOT in NYC or LA can tide ourselves over with the trailer and the soundtrack –which is FANTASTIC!!! [I think all of you know how much Katie and I are looking forward to this movie. I’m pretty sure my friends and family members know too. -M]

Angels Sing is out onDemand and for Rent

Harry Connick Jr., Connie Britton and Willie Nelson in a Christmas movie –FUN!!! [AND Lyle Lovett! If this was on Hallmark it would be on my DVR already but I don’t think I want to pay for it. Maybe if I was with Katie. I couldn’t enjoy this alone. -M]

Movies I can’t wait to see in an ACTUAL theater

American Hustle, December 13, 2013

The more I watch this trailer the more excited I get about this movie. The hairstyles alone would make me want to see this but also everyone in it is pretty fab. [I still don’t understand what the plot is, but I guess that’s good, right? I really need Amy Adams to win an Oscar. -M]

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, December 25, 2013

This movie also keeps looking better and better, bonus points for the additions of Shirley MacLaine and Kathryn Hahn to an already superb cast. [For some reason I kept hearing that Mitty was going to be awful but all the trailers I have seen make it look so appealing. Patton Oswalt is in it too! -M]

I won’t go to an ACTUAL theater but will pay for it on Amazon

The Boxtrolls, September 24, 2014

I probably won’t watch this in a theater but the artistry behind this children’s movie is beautiful. [Twee bloggers are going to freak out for this and I will become extremely annoyed. I’m glad twee bloggers weren’t around when Amelie was released. -M]

You would have to PAY me to see it in an ACTUAL theater

Hercules: The Legend Begins, January 10, 2014

Melissa and I hate Kellan Lutz. I was shocked that I actually heard him speak in this trailer I am used to seeing him skulking in the back and saying nothing as he did for the first minute. [Lenny Harlin directed this, he of failed epics Cutthroat Island and The Long Kiss Goodnight. Hercules does not even look good enough to air on FX before Justified. -M]
